HOPE Education Foundation is starting to spread its wings and spirit in Malaysia. The Foundation will be helping out local Non-Governmental Organizations (NGO) and their deepest interest would be in children education. With this interest in heart, HOPE Education Foundation is now working on a project called “Reading Wonderland” with Shelter Home for Children. The aim and objective of Reading Wonderland is to refurnish the study rooms in the Boys and Girls Home; providing the children in the Home to a better and conducive environment to learn and study.
The study rooms in both homes are in bad condition where walls are falling, furniture are secondhand, insufficient, old and breaking, curtains worn out looking and cramp.
HOPE Education Foundation has managed to find a few friends who are well-known professionals such as architect, interior designer, property developer, contractor and artist who were willing to help out in Reading Wonderland. They have taken time off their busy schedule to help rebuild and refurnish the study rooms and HOPE Education Foundation appreciates their help tremendously.

A layout plan were first drew, then the selecting of fabrics for curtains, paint colors and the furniture selection. Sinje also participated in the mural painting and design the room’s signage following the project’s name; “Reading Wonderland”.
The final stage of refurnishing the study rooms was mural painting of HOPE Education Foundation’s logo. A workshop session was conducted for both the boys and girls before the actual mural painting. The children participated excitedly during both sessions. The children were asked to draw things that they like in the face of the flower.

The reason drawing the foundation’s logo is to spread the message of the Yellow Little Flower’s spirit and strength. These flowers grow and remain strong in the wilderness. Therefore, with the flowers drawn on the walls of their study room, it’ll be able to remind and remain in them to stay strong even if the road seems tough.
With the help from all good Samaritans, the project is completed successfully without much complication. HOPE Education Foundation hopes that else than providing proper education and giving these children moral support, they would want to provide love and happiness to them as well.

The children are working on painting the whole wall brightening it up with their own version of Little Yellow Flowers.
