Reading Wonderland

17 Jan 2010

HOPE Education Foundation has branched out its work to Malaysia helping out local NGO with a deep interest in children education.

We worked on a project known as “Reading Wonderland” with Shelter Home Children refurbishing the study rooms in the Boys and Girls Home, providing them a better and conducive environment to learn and study.

The original condition was really bad where walls were falling apart, insufficient and secondhand furniture, old curtains worn out and cramped areas.

Architect, interior designer, property developer, contractor and artist friends took some time off their busy schedule to work on this project and it was completed in a short period of time. We also did a mural painting with the children by drawing our logo and asked the children to draw things they like or their dreams in the flower’s face. Sinje participated in this fun activity as well and put up the signage together with the Home’s supervisor. By drawing the Foundation’s logo, it is to let the children know about the spirit and strength of Little Yellow Flower, where it grows and remains strong in the wilderness. We would also like to provide them love and happiness through the love of learning when building these Reading Wonderlands.
