15-Day Medical Camp in Solukhumbhu

In the past April, Little Yellow Flower Foundation and Kunphen Clinic have sponsored a medical camp organized by Sorig Aid and Himalayan Rays. This 15-days medical camp was primarily held in the district of Solukhumbhu.
The first camp was in Khumjung, there where 8 Sowa Rigpa doctors and 7other practitioner and students medical students from Sowa Rigpa Institute participated, providing medical services to 143 patients. Most of the patients there faced health issues such as arthritis, gastritis, and eye and ear diseases. The second camp was in Surkey, with 7 doctors and medical staff providing services to local residents and soldiers involved in road construction. The third camp was at Thipten Choelhing Monastery, there where approximately 160 monks and nuns received treatment from 27 medical team members. They faced health issues including menstrual problems, gastritis, arthritis, and high blood pressure.
During this medical camp, the medical team not only provided medications but also performed various therapies such as cupping, acupuncture, bloodletting, moxibustion, stick therapy, and aromatherapy. The medical team also recommended good diets and lifestyles based on the patients’ physical conditions. They found that many patients lacked basic health awareness, and many minor health issues had not been properly treated, leading to more severe health problems. Therefore, they hoped that through this medical camp, they could raise the patients’ health awareness and also study how to help them more effectively in the future.
The medical camp received enthusiastic feedback and support from the participants and was successfully carried out with the blessings of His Eminence Khrulshig Rinpoche and Maratika. Little Yellow Flower Foundation looks forward to spreading love and care to all corners of the world in the future.
