Children usually do different indoor activities at the centre and to break away from their usual routines, we decided to do gardening at the centre. Gardening is the perfect way to connect with the children, and we don’t need fancy tools or pricey plants – just pots, soil, and seeds can transform our space into a beautiful garden, and we will have hours of fun along the way while caring for the plants.
We planted some hot chili and tomato for our garden and educated the children on how the food is grown and the lifecycle of a plant. Children were eager to get their hands dirty, place soil in pots, water the seeds, and feel excited to see their garden grow. It has been a lovely bonding activity for all of us, and we look forward to seeing the fruits of our labor soon.
